To create a new appointment, log into your GoReminders account from your preferred device and fill out a short appointment creation  form. You’ll have a new appointment created in 10 seconds or less. Afterward, you can conveniently manage your appointments using a desktop, tablet, or mobile phone—whichever device is within arm’s reach at that time.

In contrast, Appointfix is available only as an iOS or Android app—it can’t be used from a desktop. This is a major sticking point for many Appointfix users, and you should consider whether it will be the same for you. Imagine how frustrating it can be if you need to update your appointments but don’t have immediate access to your phone. After all, the show must go on and business needs to keep moving.

Fully Automated Text and Email Reminders

Sending appointment reminders is an important process for businesses to keep their calendar filled, so tap on an appointment reminder software with a proven track record in reducing no-shows.

With GoReminders, you can schedule the sending of up to three text reminders and three email reminders—for a total of six reminders—per appointment. The contents and send schedules of these reminders are completely customizable. The send schedules for reminders are also set in relation to the appointment date and time, such as one hour before the appointment or even 30 days prior. As a result, your reminders will always be sent right on schedule even if you adjust an appointment’s date or time later on.

Your reminders are also fully automated. Once you’ve set them up, you can rest assured that they’ll be sent according to your specified send schedules. No further human intervention on your part is needed. Last but not least, regardless of which GoReminders plan you’re on, we’ll assign you a phone number for sending text reminders and receiving customer replies to these reminders. This way, you and your staff will be able to interact with customers without having to use your personal numbers.

On the other hand, Appointfix will provide you with a generic phone number and fully automated text reminders only if you sign up for its most expensive plan. On other plans, the text reminders will come from your phone number, which may not be ideal. In addition, you will need to manually approve the sending of your text reminders. This can quickly prove to be a chore if you’re sending dozens of reminders every day.

Finally, bear in mind that Appointfix doesn’t offer email reminder functionality. This could be a deal-breaker if you plan on sending email reminders for appointments.

Flexible Message Personalization

Use GoReminders’ Template Tags to add a personalized touch to your appointment reminders.

Customer personalization is no longer a nice-to-have. It is a must-have. We provide message placeholders—known as Template Tags—for personalizing appointment reminders with your customer’s first name, appointment date and time, service requested, and other information. Insert these Template Tags into your messages, and we’ll dynamically populate the messages with the right details before sending them to your customers.

While we offer a good range of default Template Tags, you can also create your own custom Template Tags to meet your business’s unique needs. For example, are you holding classes virtually? Simply create a custom Template Tag to embed video meeting links into your reminders.

Appointfix also has standard dynamic fields for customers’ names, appointment dates, and so on. However, there is no option to create custom fields. As a result, you’d be restricted to using Appointfix’s limited number of dynamic fields for your reminders.

Continue the Conversation With Two-Way Messaging

You’ve sent a customer an appointment reminder. However, something has come up and the customer wants to reschedule. Alternatively, the customer may have a question about their appointment. No problem, because our reminders support two-way messaging.

Customers can directly reply to your text reminders or email reminders, and their replies will be stored in a central messaging inbox on the GoReminders platform. You can then respond and attend to the customer’s needs at your leisure. While there is no cap on the number of replies you can send to customers, each response to a customer will consume one message credit. We provide a base number of free message credits every month, and you can purchase more credits if you’ve used all your base message credits for a certain month.

Appointfix’s own two-way messaging feature is more limited. For one, it isn’t available in all countries. If you’re doing business in a country in which Appointfix doesn’t support two-way messaging, your customers will not be able to respond to messages you send via Appointfix.

In addition, each customer reply you receive in Appointfix will count toward a monthly message quota. Once you’ve hit the quota, you will need to pay for more messages to continue receiving customer replies (or even just sending reminders).

Smooth Integration Into Existing App Workflows

GoReminders is built for seamless compatibility with other apps. We support all major calendar apps, such as Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Outlook Calendar, so you can view GoReminders appointments from your calendar app of choice.

We also have a Zapier integration for connecting GoReminders with thousands of apps. Using Zapier’s no-code interface, you’ll be able to automate common workflows and free up time for core business responsibilities. Alternatively, if you need a custom solution, you can also integrate your apps with GoReminders via our API.

In contrast, Appointfix integrates with only two other apps: Google Calendar and Apple Calendar. If you’d like to connect your Appointfix calendar with, say, Outlook Calendar, you’d be out of luck. Neither does Appointfix offer a Zapier integration or integration via API.

As a result, you can expect to be bogged down by a lot more manual—and tedious—busywork as you attempt to add Appointfix to your app workflows.
